Derby Genjitsuteki Karate (Formerly Derby Karate Club) is a family friendly club.
We teach Wado Ryu style Karate to all ages above 6 years old. The club has been running for nearly 30 years and has a slowly growing membership. We train 5 nights per week at venues around Derby and teach the standard 15 Wado Ryu katas (or forms), self defence applications from the katas, and formal paired work. Every session includes a brisk warm up, basic techniques, impact equipment to train correct techniques for punching and kicking, kata practice and some light controlled sparring.
We hold regular additional sessions for guest instructors, weapons courses and extra sparring training. We offer a free first session so you can ‘try before you buy’.
